Brief Biography

Dr. Muhammad Ali went to medical college in Pakistan and subsequently did his paediatric training at the Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi, Pakistan. Dr. Ali has fellowship in the discipline of paediatrics from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (FCPS). He joined SickKids in 2006 as clinical fellow. After three years of fellowship in Haematology/Oncology Dr. Ali completed a Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) clinical fellowship, then continued working with the BMT team for two years as senior clinical fellow before joining as BMT staff physician.

 Special Interests

  • Hematopoietic stem cell transplant for patients with metabolic diseases

Clinical Care Activities

  • Care of children in need for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation
  •  Inpatient service in the BMT unit
  • Outpatient BMT clinic

Research Interests

  • Transplant related complications
