Brief Biography
Dr. Charron joined SickKids in 2005 as Head of Nuclear Medicine. He completed his residency at McGill and his fellowship at Harvard in 1988. He was Chief of Nuclear Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh where he was involved in the creation and development of PET/CT. In 2000, he was Chief of Nuclear Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Associate Professor at PENN. Both research teams won numerous international awards. Dr. Charron is the editor of a book and involved in numerous publications. He is often invited to speak nationally and internationally. He served as President of the Paediatric Council for the Society of Nuclear Medicine. He is a reviewer of manuscripts and meeting abstracts for national and international scientific societies, organizes numerous courses, chairs scientific sessions and serves on several committees. Dr. Charron has been the recipient of grants, including NIH, and serves as Senior Associate Scientist at the Research Institute.
