Brief Biography

Dr. Emer Finan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Paediatrics and Director of the Neonatal-Perinatal Training Program at the University of Toronto. Her research and academic interests are in medical education, particularly in relation to neonatal resuscitation and procedural skills training. Dr. Finan is the Chair of the Canadian Paediatric Society Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Steering Committee and of the NRP Education Subcommittee.

Academic Background

Dr. Finan obtained her MB, BCh, BAO from the National University of Ireland, Galway. She then undertook paediatric training in Ireland before completing neonatal-perinatal fellowship training at the University of Toronto. Finan obtained a Master in Education (Health Professional Education) from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto.
