Brief Biography

Dr. Levine is a paediatric anaesthesiologist who has been on staff at The Hospital for Sick Children since July 1993. He is involved in the perioperative management of children undergoing a wide variety of surgical, therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. He is one of seven anaesthesiologists at the hospital who takes care of children undergoing surgery for correction of congenital and acquired heart disease and cardiac transplantation. He is also a member of the team involved in providing anaesthetic care for children undergoing liver and multiple organ transplantation.

Dr. Levine is active in resident education. He is the coordinator for anaesthesia resident education at the Hospital for Sick Children and is responsible for the organization of formal and informal teaching and evaluation of residents. He is a member of the Postgraduate Education Committee of the Department of Anaesthesia at the University of Toronto and is also a member of the Resident Selection Committee. Dr. Levine has been awarded the prize for excellence in resident education at the Hospital for Sick Children on numerous occasions. He has been the organizer and Chair of the Shields Anaesthesia Research day at the University of Toronto since 1996. He is also a member of the Mortality and Morbidity Committee and Chair of the Equipment Committee in the Department of Anaesthesia at The Hospital for Sick Children.
