Brief Biography

Sherna Marcus is an Occupational Therapist who has worked in a variety of different clinical programs at SickKids since 1990. She currently provides OT services to patients in the Paediatric Medicine and Complex Care Programs. She is also the OT Clinical Coordinator of Education in the Department of Rehabilitation Services. Sherna's clinical expertise and area of interest is paediatric feeding and swallowing. She has taught extensively, has published articles and is co-author of two books on this topic. 

Research Interests

  • The use of neuromuscular electrical stimulation in the treatment of swallowing dysfunction in infants and children.
  • The safety of thickening agents in the treatment of dysphagia in infants.
