Ambulatory Clinics

What is ARMs?

The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) has launched a new online referral system to support more timely and efficient management of referral from health-care professionals to the outpatient clinics. This new system is beneficial to you, the referring physician, child and our hospital.

The online system electronically routes patient referrals for review, triage and booking. It provides automated faxed responses to let you know when your referral has been received, whether it has been redirected and to whom, and when the patient has been booked for an appointment. As with faxed referrals, office staff can continue to complete online referral forms using the information you provide.

Providing us with the required referral information and you receiving immediate and automated responses, your patients and your office will benefit from regular and more timelier updates, resulting in a more efficient process that will result in the right care at the right time.

If you have not yet made an online referral, we would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to this efficient and easy-to-use new system. Please review our “First-time users” section to get started with ARMs; learning how to refer a patient to a clinic using ARMs.

To use the Ambulatory Referral Management system (ARMs) you must first:

  • Obtain a username and password
  • Review the guidelines and ensure that your child meets the appropriate criteria via each clinic's description
  • If you are familiar with the system, please click here to login using your username and password.
