Continuing education support
SickKids provides substantial financial aid to our staff to support advancing their knowledge and skills through tuition reimbursment, education funding and various scholarships.
General tuition program
Eligible permanent full-time and part-time staff receive up to $500 per semester in financial support for formal continuing education. Full-time and part-time staff with an FTE between 0.5 and 1.0 are eligible for up to 100 per cent reimbursement (pro-rated for part-time) for applicable degree, diploma or certificate programs. Up to $800 reimbursement for conferences, seminars and workshops is also available for eligible staff.
SickKids Foundation Education Fund
For Nursing and Professional Services employees, the SickKids Foundation has established an education fund to support staff in certificate, diploma and degree programs, and continuing education conferences and workshops. Permanent full-time, part-time and casual Nurses and Professional Services staff are eligible for up to 100 per cent reimbursement (pro-rated for part-time and casual) to a maximum per semester of $2,000 for graduate level programs, $1,800 for undergraduate level education, $800 for certificate programs or $800 for continuing education conferences and workshops per year.
Other support
In addition, various scholarships are available through the Research Institute, Nursing and SickKids Foundation to support individual employees in lifelong learning initiatives.
