Employee assistance plan
SickKids offers our employees, family members, spouse and dependents a voluntary, confidential counselling and referral service. The EAP counsellors assist our employees with any personal and work-related concerns that may affect either their physical or emotional, before they lead to more serious difficulties. Our EAP can assist with the following concerns:
- Personal and emotional problems
- Marital/other relationship difficulties
- Family matters
- Childcare/eldercare concerns
- Stress (including job-related stress)
- Interpersonal relations
- Vocational and career issues
- Alcohol and drug problems
- Legal matters
- Financial difficulties
A series of counselling sessions are available related to each of the above concerns in any given year at no cost to our employees. The EAP counsellor will also assist the employee through a referral to an appropriate professional or agency in the community if long-term or specialized services are required.
