The Family Advisory Committee Award recognizes a humanitarian staff member (or team) who demonstrates a commitment to the philosophy of family-centred care. Families of patients nominate individuals for the award.

The Volunteer Humanitarian Award was created in celebration of the 2001 International Year of the Volunteer and this is the first year an award is being made. This award recognizes and honours volunteers who consistently demonstrate qualities of compassion and humanitarianism while providing assistance to SickKids patients and families.
