Work environment

The Hospital for Sick Children is committed to fostering a workplace climate of mutual respect and collegiality. To support this committment, SickKids offers an array of tools and resources to staff including developmental training opportunities, team building programs and conflict resolution programs.

In supporting diversity and work/life balance initiatives, SickKids is continually implementing flexible work arrangements such as self-scheduling and weekend worker programs where possible.

SickKids is also committed to the philosophy that staff have input into decisions that impact not only their working lives but also the direction of the Hospital. To support this approach, staff participation is encouraged through focus groups and surveys, organizational, departmental and unit-based committees.
