Darcy Fehlings has been appointed Head, Division of Developmental Paediatrics.

Fehlings has an academic appointment as an Associate Professor in the Department of Paediatrics, Division of Developmental Paediatrics, at Bloorview Kids Rehab, the Hospital for Sick Children and University of Toronto. She is a Senior Scientist in the Bloorview Research Institute. Dr. Fehlings obtained her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Toronto in 1983, and became a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Pediatrics in 1987. She obtained her Master of Science degree in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at McMaster University in 1991. 

Her current positions include Head of the Division of Developmental Paediatrics, Department of Paediatrics, University of Toronto, Physician Director of the Child Development Program at Bloorview Kids Rehab, and Scientific Leader of Health Evaluation at Bloorview Research Institute. 

Dr. Fehlings’ area of clinical expertise is in the field of developmental paediatrics with a focus on children with physical disabilities (cerebral palsy, and neuromuscular disorders). Of particular interest is her research work in hypertonia management and evaluating innovative treatments for children with cerebral palsy.
