Susana Andres


Susana is a business development officer at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) with over seven years of experience in helping SickKids clinical, scientific and professional staff protect their ideas and research and bring them to the market through commercialization. Susana is responsible for a variety of matters including the identification and evaluation of research and clinical-based inventions created at SickKids, marketing, agreement negotiations, seeking and securing external industry funding to support research and development, and determining commercialization pathways. Additionally, Susana is an active member of the IP&C educational-outreach activities. As a member of the Alliance for the Commercialization of Canadian Technology, Susana was a moderator in ACCT track session entitled University/Industry/Government Interactions. In addition to external sessions, Susana also coordinates internal outreach activities which include presentations to staff on topics such as IP&C services, commercialization and industry engagement. Susana was also an integral contributor to the creation of SickKids’ newly published Mobile Apps Framework. This framework provides staff with an enterprise-wide process to develop mobile apps for clinical and/or research purposes.

Susana received a Bachelor of Arts degree from York University.
