CPR and Resuscitation Training

Standard First Aid

The Resuscitation Education Program through the Learning Institute is excited to announce the addition of Standard First Aid to its list of programming.

Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Standard First Aid training includes first aid as well as CPR and defibrillation, together in one course. The goal is to get more Canadians ready, willing and able to take action in a cardiac or other medical emergency. Fast action saves lives.

In this 2 day course you will learn the essential skills of patient care to protect and support the life of a suddenly ill or injured person until emergency medical services arrive.  Instruction will cover first aid skills such as those that help in the control of bleeding, shock management, stabilizing fractures and dislocations.

The Heart & Stroke Foundation’s Standard First Aid course has been developed to meet the requirements of provincial legislation in relation to the provision of occupational health and safety first aid.
