Programme for Global Paediatric Research™ Symposia and Workshops

One of the objectives of The Programme for Global Paediatric Research™ (PGPR) is to conduct symposia and workshops focusing on global child health at major meetings of paediatric health researchers.

Important goals of PGPR symposia and workshops are to highlight information to a broad-base of scientists and clinicians, bring researchers from throughout the world together for discussion and to begin collaborations, and distil research needs and next steps which need to be taken to solve pressing problems affecting the health of children in low and mid income countries.

Symposium and Workshop: “Neonatal Hyperbilirubinemia in Developing Countries”
May 4 and 5, 2009; Baltimore, U.S.A.

The Programme for Global Paediatric Research (“PGPR”) includes paediatric researchers, societies, and other organizations committed to child health. It was formed in January 2004 to address the disparity between the scientific research resources available in high-income countries and the quantity of scientific research focused on the health of children in mid- and low-income countries. PGPR works at the centre of a global network to inform, educate, facilitate international research cooperation and collaboration, and advocate for research to improve the health of all children.
