Paediatric Emergency Procedures Course

 

This intensive workshop is designed to provide a practical approach to Paediatric emergency procedural skills. Participants will rotate through 6 stations and will practice procedural skills on animal tissues and models, supervised by experts in Paediatric Emergency Medicine and Paediatric Acute Care Transport.

Also, an introductory session with Dr. Jonathan Pirie on Paediatric Procedural Tips and Tricks.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify common strategies for enhanced success during paediatric procedures
  • Discuss various techniques of paediatric emergency procedures
  • Recognize potential complications that may occur during paediatric procedures
  • Practice a number of paediatric emergency procedural skills

  • Intraosseus and Gluing
  • Umbilical Vein Catheterization
  • Cricothyroidotomy
  • Femoral Central Line
  • Chest Tube Insertion
  • Lumbar Puncture
