The 2011 Department of Paediatrics Annual Awards Day Celebration was held on June 22, 2011.

Carolyn Calpin - R.H.A. Haslam Preclerkship Teaching Award - to the faculty member who has demonstrated excellence in preclerkship teaching.
Marvin Gans - The Lionel Weinstein Clerkship Award - to the faculty member who has demonstrated excellence in clerkship teaching.
Narendra Singh - The Undergraduate Community Teaching Award in recognition of excellence in the teaching of medical students within community-based hospitals and offices.

Bev Kupfert - Postgraduate Community Paediatric Teaching Award in recognition of excellence in the teaching of paediatric residents within community-based hospitals and offices.
Reshma Amin - Subspecialty Teaching Award - to the faculty member who has demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching the subspecialty residents and clinical fellows.
Michelle Shouldice - CME Award - to the faculty member who has demonstrated excellence in course coordination or teaching in a Department of Paediatrics or University of Toronto Continuing Education sponsored event.
Denis Daneman - PERLs Award - Paediatric Educational Resident Lecture Series Award to the faculty member who has demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching at the Paediatric academic sessions.

Physician Research Award for Career Excellence to recognize sustained excellence by a physician who has generated a body of work with relevance beyond a specific field of study. The awardee will be 15 or more years beyond the initial date of appointment as a faculty member in an Academic Health Sciences Centre.

Physician Researcher Award for Scientific Accomplishment to recognize the accomplishments of a physician who has generated a body of research that is exerting a major impact in a field of study. The awardee will be more 15 or more years beyond the initial date of appointment as a faculty member in an Academic Health Sciences Centre.
2011 Winner: Prakesh Shah
Junior Faculty Research Award to recognize outstanding achievements and progress in research by a physician during the first six years after his/her initial academic appointment and whose primary appointment is in the Department of Paediatrics, University of Toronto.

Clinical Awards
Sylvia Cheng - Saunders' Prize - to a senior resident who has demonstrated excellence in clinical paediatrics.
Jeremy Friedman - Richard Rowe Award - for Clinical Excellence in Paediatric Medical Care to the physician in the Department of Paediatrics who has demonstrated excellence in the delivery of clinical care in the broadest sense over a significant period of time
Sarah Alexander and Ari Bitnun - Junior Faculty Award - to a physician within the first 5-10 years of appointment to an Academic Health Science Centre, who has demonstrated excellence in the delivery of clinical care.
Administrative Award
In recognition of an administrative support staff member in the Department of Paediatrics who has demonstrated outstanding performance and excellence in all aspects of their role. This individual possesses outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and is motivated to perform above and beyond their daily responsibilities. This award was first awarded in 2007.
