Biostatistics Methodology Unit
The Biostatistics Methodology Unit (BMU) at The Hospital for Sick Children Research Institute is an interdisciplinary research unit dedicated to the advancement and dissemination of statistical methodology related to biomedical and population health research. This unit, which is the first of its kind among Canadian paediatric research institutes and children’s hospitals, is devoted to make fundamental contribution to scientific research in general and to the paediatric health in particular. BMU will foster to create opportunities for methodological collaborations not only between methodologists and clinicians, but also amongst methodologists themselves.
Mission
The BMU is dedicated to conducting methodological research aimed at solving complex biomedical and health research problems; contributing to research capacity and the training of clinical and biomedical scientists in quantitative research methods; and networking with similar local, national and international methodology units and foster exchange of expertise in research methods.
Vision
The BMU strives to create, evaluate and disseminate evidence-based knowledge that leads to the improvement of health.
