Cynthia de Medeiros

Cynthia de Medeiros

Cynthia de Medeiros completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto at Mississauga (HB.Sc. - Psychology). In 2011, she received her Masters degree at McGill University (M.Sc. - Psychiatry) where she worked on an animal model of pain in preterm infants exploring its effects on brain development and behaviour. Prior to joining the Mabbott Lab in 2013, she worked in a Neuroscience and Psychology Lab at the University of Toronto at Mississauga exploring the neural correlates of mothering in both rats and humans (postpartum depression).


Currently, de Medeiros is a Clinical Research Project Manager. She is responsible for the organization and coordination of clinical projects in the Mabbott Lab including the Exercise Study, Speed of Thinking and Memory, Genome Canada, Metformin, and other multi-site studies. In addition, Cynthia also conducts neuropsychological testing for research purposes, writes reports, prepares proposals and amendments for the Research Ethics Board and assists in compiling grant proposals.
