Road closure on Walton Street
Walton Street will be closed to road traffic at the corner of Bay Street, effective today July 12. It is anticipated that this closure will be in effect until October, 2012.
To better coordinate traffic at The Research & Learning Tower construction site EllisDon has obtained permission from the City of Toronto to close Bay Street access to Walton. The permit allows for the closure from the corner of Bay Street to a point 83.5 metres west. A gate will installed at the corner of Bay and Walton to close access to Walton Street from Bay. Two-way access to Walton Street from Elizabeth Street will be made available to local traffic.
The north side of Walton Street will remain open and accessible to all pedestrian traffic.
