SickKids celebrates our summer students!

The SickKids Summer Research Program Symposium is an annual event where SickKids summer students have the opportunity to showcase their hard work. At this year’s event, on August 2, 2012, there were 128 undergraduate university students who participated in poster and oral presentations. In addition, SickKids researchers, judges, faculty and trainees attended the symposium throughout the day and experienced the great research done by the students this summer.

The Symposium was not only a valuable training exercise; it was also a fascinating opportunity to showcase undergraduate research activity at SickKids. The oral presentations began with a presentation by guest speaker Dr. Gordon Keller, Senior Scientist, Ontario Cancer Institute, University Health Network, who gave a presentation on Directed Differentiation of Human Pluripotent Stem Cells.
