Pain Centre Sub Committees

Centre Committees

The Pain Centre Clinical Sub-Committee's mandate is to:

  • Identify and develop clinical initiatives across the organization in collaboration with the Pain Centre.
  • Enhance the role of pain champions locally.
  • Create an inspirational vision and clear standard messaging for pain prevention tailored to patient goals.
  • Develop, update and review policies and CPGs.
  • Create novel strategies for pain prevention and management locally and globally.
  • Be a liaison between the Pain Centre Executive, other centres, internal and external partners for clinical initiatives.

The Pain Centre Education Sub-Committee's mandate is to:

  • Develop strategies integrating children and families in pain prevention initiatives.
  • Identify and develop collaborative educational initiatives across the centre.
  • Review and implement innovative educational strategies.
  • Be a liaison between the Pain Centre Executive and other centres and internal and external partners for education initiatives.
  • Implement KT strategies to facilitate new knowledge uptake globally.

The Pain Centre Research Sub-Committee's mandate is to:

  • Identify and develop research initiatives across the centre.
  • Run and promote research grant competitions.
  • Evaluate research outcomes for centre funded initiatives.
  • Review and implement innovative research  strategies.
  • Be a liaison between the Pain Centre Executive and other centres and internal and external partners for research initiatives.
  • Enhance linkages between basic, clinical and implementation science.
  • Develop centre led versus individual research projects and increase strong base of research funding with new researchers.

The Pain Centre PICH Sub-Committee's mandate is to:

  • Identify and develop collaborative educational initiatives for the centre.
  • Be a liaison between the Pain Centre Executive and PICH initiatives, internal and external to SickKids.
