PEM Point-of-Care Advanced Training Programs
The Point-of-Care Ultrasound Trainership
This immersive program brings Canadian and International practicing physicians to The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, for a four to12 week training experience. Trainees receive specialized lectures and one on one coaching from our POCUS faculty focusing on their selected applications in order to gain clinical competence. This experience is enriched through attending a weekly journal club, image review sessions, small group scanning shifts and procedural simulation workshops.
The Point-of-Care Ultrasound Traveling Trainership
This comprehensive, longitudinal model delivers on-site instruction for physician groups in their own work space in three phases. Over a six week period an individualized curriculum featuring live lectures and 1:1 coaching sessions is lead on-site by one of our faculty. The learning experience continues through the use of cloud enabled software for ongoing quality assurance, personalized feedback and implementation metrics and a second on-site competency-based assessment of each trainee completes the program. This experience is enriched through virtual attendance at a weekly journal club, and on-site image review sessions, small group scanning shifts and procedural simulation workshops.
