Brief Biography
Dr. Ali completed his medical degree and ophthalmology residency training at the University of Toronto. He was appointed Chief Resident and winner of the Wojwitka Cup for best graduating resident.
Subsequently he completed two fellowships at Washington University in St. Louis, one in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus and the other in Cornea and External Disease, as he acquired interest in pediatric corneal transplantation. He is the recipient of an E.A. Baker Fellowship awarded by the Canadian National Institute for the Blind and his current interests include developing novel techniques in paediatric corneal transplantation and anterior segment surgery and improved imaging of the eye.
