Brief Biography

Dr. Suzanne Beno is a Paediatric Emergency Medicine Specialist at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). She completed her subspecialty training at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, held a faculty position in Paediatric Emergency Medicine at  the Stollery Children’s Hospital and University of Alberta from 2006-2010, and joined SickKids in August 2010 as a full time faculty member in the Division of Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Beno is the Medical Co-Director for Trauma at SickKids, and the Medical Administrative Director representing the SickKids Trauma Program regionally, provincially and nationally. In addition, she is the Site Director for the Canadian Hospitals Injury Reporting and Prevention Program through the Public Health Agency of Canada, and recently has become the SickKids Site Lead and representative for TREKK, a national knowledge translation organization for emergency medical knowledge and care of children. Dr. Beno's professional interests focus on the continuing advancement and improvement of paediatric trauma care and injury prevention/control through medical education, quality improvement initiatives, research, public awareness and advocacy.

Clinical Care Activities

Dr. Beno is an active member of the Division of Emergency Medicine and participates in the entire spectrum of paediatric emergency medicine, with a particular emphasis on trauma, injury control and medical education.
