Research Interests

Pulmonary Vein Stenosis

Pulmonary Vein Stenosis is a major unsolved problem in congenital heart disease. When limited to the junction of the pulmonary veins in the left atrium, surgical therapy is often successful. Unfortunately, pulmonary vein vasculopathy often extends upstream into the lung parenchyma with a very high mortality rate. We are examining pelagic mechanisms of upstream pulmonary vein stenosis using cell-based, mouse and porcine models.

Cardiovascular Data Management Centre

The Cardiovascular Data Management Centre (CVDMC) collects clinical data from patients with cardiovascular disease across the entire University of Toronto. The data is aggregated in a linkage-rich environment which fosters quality improvement initiatives and clinical research.
