Brief Biography

Iris Cohn graduated from pharmacy school of the Heinrich-Heine-University in Germany in 1995 and is a registered pharmacist in Germany, USA and Canada.

Iris served as clinical pharmacist in Germany from 1996 to 1998 and in various hospital settings in the USA (Iowa City and Baltimore, 1999-2012). During her time at Johns Hopkins she directed and supervised projects and initiatives that have not only increased patient and medication safety, but have also utilized and implemented novel technology utilized by health-care providers that improved the daily care of patients.

Iris joined The Hospital for Sick Children in October 2013 as a Clinical Research Pharmacogenetics Advisor in the Division of Clinical Pharmacology & Toxicology.

Since her arrival, she developed the clinical pharmacogenetics testing program: Clinical Pharmacogenetics Research Pilot study: CPS pilot at The Hospital for Sick Children.

Iris’ research focuses on optimizing a design for a future pharmacogenetics service including different technology platforms and to advance pharmacogenetics testing into the therapeutic management of daily clinical care.
