Brief Biography
Dr. Crawford is a paediatric anaesthesiologist who has been on staff at The Hospital for Sick Children since 1990. He is the Anesthesiologist-in-Chief and Director of Research in the Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine, and an Associate Scientist of the Research Institute at The Hospital for Sick Children. He is a member of the Anaesthesia Research Committee of the University of Toronto. Dr. Crawford’s research interests include the pharmacology of anaesthetic agents in the paediatric population. He is the recipient of the 1998 Canadian Anaesthesiologists’ Society Organon Canada Research Award. He has seven grants including peer-reviewed grants from the Canadian Anaesthesiologists’ Society and the Physicians’ Services Incorporated. He has authored 40 peer-reviewed abstracts and manuscripts, and since 1993, he has supervised the research of 14 clinical and research fellows at The Hospital for Sick Children. Dr. Crawford’s clinical work includes the provision of anaesthesia for liver and kidney transplantation.
