Brief Biography

Monping completed a nursing diploma in 1995 and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (2000) from Ryerson University in Toronto. She completed her Masters of Science (2006) with a Family Nurse Practitioner certificate from D’Youville College in New York.

Clinical Activities

Monping began her career at The Hospital for Sick Children in 1995 in the General Surgery/Orthopedics/Otolaryngology units. In 2000, she was involved in the implementation of the Clinical Response Nurse (CRN) role at Sick Kids. The CRN is an expert team of nurses who responds to Traumas and Codes; and provides clinical expertise in the care of critically ill and unstable patients. Monping also worked as a Child Health Service Administrative Associate and worked in the Post Anesthetic Care Unit. She recently joined the Division of General Surgery as an Advance Practice Nurse in 2006. Her population involves surgical neonates and infants to adolescents with tracheal anomalies and thoracic resections, abdominal wall defects and abdominal tumor resections, anorectal malformations, portal systemic shunts, and bowel resections. With a special interest in surgical oncology.

Monping previously taught with the Faculty of Health Science at George Brown College; predominantly in the Physical Examination and Health Assessment course.
