Brief Biography
Dr. Cecil Hahn completed medical school at the University of Toronto in 1998, followed by a residency in paediatric neurology at SickKids, where he was awarded the William J. Logan award of excellence in clinical teaching. Supported by a three-year Duncan L. Gordon fellowship from the SickKids Foundation, Dr. Hahn completed a clinical research fellowship in paediatric epilepsy and neurocritical care at Children’s Hospital Boston, together with a Master of Public Health at Harvard University.
Dr. Hahn returned to SickKids in 2003 as a Clinician-Investigator and Associate Scientist in the Research Institute. He is contributing to the hospital’s growing interdisciplinary neurocritical care program, with strong clinical and research collaborations in both the neonatal and paediatric intensive care units.

Research Interests
Defining mechanisms of brain injury in critically ill neonates, infants and children, particularly the potential contribution of seizures to brain injury.
Evaluation of bedside tools for continuous monitoring of brain function.
