Brief Biography

Michelle Ho is a Paediatric Nurse Practitioner in the Complex Care Program, within the Division of Paediatric Medicine. She completed her undergraduate nursing degree (BScN) at the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing at the University of Toronto. She started her nursing career at SickKids in 2009 as a staff RN in the Division of Haematology/Oncology.  In 2015, Michelle completed her graduate nursing studies (MN/NP-Paediatrics) at the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing at the University of Toronto. Prior to her current role, Michelle worked as a nurse practitioner in the Thrombosis program within the Division of Haematology/Oncology.

Clinical Care Activities

Michelle works in the Complex Care Clinic at SickKids where she provides ambulatory care to children with medical complexity and their families. She is also the primary nurse practitioner for the Complex Care Clinic at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, a community satellite partner. Within this role, Michelle’s work focuses on supporting and addressing the needs of these children and their families by collaborating with multiple sub-specialists at SickKids and within their community, coordinating care, and developing plans of care.

Research Interests

Michelle previously held the position of Professional Practice Coordinator in the Collaborative for Professional Practice at SickKids, wherein she played a key role in leading the hospital-wide implementation of the Child and Family Involvement in Nursing Shift Handover at the Bedside initiative. Michelle has also been actively involved in a number of research projects: she was a research intern for the CARE to SLEEP study (PI: Krista Keilty), she is a site co-investigator and study NP for industry-sponsored clinical trials related to paediatric thrombosis, and she is a clinical research nurse coordinator for the Caring Intensively Study (PI: Janet Rennick).
