Brief Biography

Dr. Kemp is a paediatric anaesthesiologist who has been on staff at The Hospital for Sick Children since 1991. She is a director of satellite anaesthesia and sedation. She is involved in acute pain service. Dr. Kemp is a tutor in the Problem Based Learning curriculum Faculty of Medicine University of Toronto of medical students on foundations of medicine. She was a moderator of the anaesthesia section of Telemedicine. She is a previous director of the Paediatric Anaesthesia Fellowship Program. Her research includes preoperative Valium in adolescents to treat anxiety; Alfentanil anaesthesia for tonsillectomies; preoperative hemoglobin and urinalysis testing in children. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Anaesthesiologists’ Society. She is member of the Board of Directors – Cedarbrook Society. She is Chairman of the Operations Committee, Rose Cherry Home (first paediatric respite/hospice and palliative care home for children in Ontario). Dr. Kemp is a Professor of the Development Committee, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
