Brief Biography

Kate Langrish is the Clinical Director for Paediatric Medicine, Complex Care and Strategic Projects at The Hospital for Sick Children. Since starting her career as a Registered Nurse in paediatric surgery at SickKids, she has held positions as a clinical support nurse and staff nurse in the Emergency Department, as an Advanced Nursing Practice Educator and Senior Clinical Manager for the Division of Paediatric Medicine at SickKids, and as a Nursing Practice Leader for paediatrics and neonatology at Toronto East General Hospital.  She brings a unique blend of clinical, operational and strategic expertise to her leadership role. Kate completed her undergraduate degree in nursing at Queen's University and her masters in nursing with a clinical focus at the University of Toronto.

Clinical Interests

Complex Care Program

Kate has operational and budgetary accountability for the Complex Care Program within her portfolio, which also includes patient access and the inpatient general and respiratory medicine units. Kate partners in providing strategic leadership and oversight for the program.

Achievements

Kate was the recipient of the 2012 Grace Evelyn Simpson Reeves award for Nursing Leadership and the 2003 Grace Evelyn Simpson Reeves Nursing Team award.
