Brief Biography

Anne Marie Maloney is a Nurse Practitioner in the Division of Haematology and Oncology. Her areas of clinical responsibility are divided between the inpatient Leukemia and Lymphoma Program and the SickKids Fertility Preservation Program. Her clinical interests include supportive care for hospitalized patients and fertility preservation.

Anne Marie holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Windsor, a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and a Post-Master’s Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Diploma from the University of Toronto. Anne Marie has a clinical appointment as a lecturer with the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Toronto. She serves on a number of committees in both divisional and hospital wide. Anne Marie attends Camp Oochigeas - a summer camp for children with cancer.

Clinical Care Activities

Anne Marie provides comprehensive care to children admitted for chemotherapy, fever and neutropenia and palliative care. She is a resource to nurses, physicians and professional services staff in the supportive care of children with cancer. As well, she provides nursing practice leadership within the division of Haematology and Oncology. Anne Marie has facilitated the development of the SickKids Fertility Preservation Program. She consults with families on their child’s fertility risk and coordinates interventions as needed.

Research Interests

Anne Marie has served on two completed COG clinical trial committees. She is the institutional PI for COG ALTE11C1 A Longitudinal Assessment of Ovarian Reserve in Adolescents with Lymphoma. Anne Marie and the SickKids Fertility Preservation Program are developing studies to measure the impact of the Fertility Preservation Program.
