Brief Biography

Dr. Daune MacGregor is a Paediatric Neurologist at The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada. She completed her medical training at the University of Saskatchewan graduating cum laude in 1971. She then trained in Paediatrics and Neurology in Toronto at the Hospital for Sick Children and did postgraduate studies in Developmental Neurology at The Hospital for Sick Children Great Ormond Street, London, England and the Children’s Hospital Medical Center at Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts. She is currently a staff neurologist and Associate Chair, Clinical Services, and Associate Paediatrician-in-Chief in the Department of Paediatrics at The Hospital for Sick Children. She was appointed a Full Professor of Paediatrics and Neurology at the University of Toronto in 1995.

Her current research interests are in the study of cerebral vascular disorders including stroke and headache, neurodevelopmental disorders including spina bifida and acquired brain injury in children. Dr. MacGregor is the current President of the Canadian Association of Child Neurologists.
