Brief Biography

Dr. Manson has been on staff in the Department of Diagnostic Imaging since 1989. His clinical areas of expertise are primarily in general paediatric body imaging, with a specific interest in lung imaging. He has an active role in daily resident and fellow teaching of both radiology trainees as well as clinical service trainees, especially in the paediatric and respiratory departments. He conducts formal weekly teaching rounds of pulmonary diseases for the radiology residents and fellows and is involved in weekly clinical and teaching rounds for the respiratory paediatrics service. His research interests include imaging of various aspects of pulmonary vascular and parenchymal processes.

Academic Background

Projects/ Initiatives:

  1. Multi Detector Computer Tomography  (MDCT) to evaluate pulmonary vasculature anatomy in children.
  2. MR chest imaging in children.
  3. Use of High Resolution Computer Tomography (HRCT) to evaluate pediatric diffuse lung tissue.
  4. Imaging of children with pulmonary vasculitis (a group of disorders characterized by the destruction of blood vessels by inflammation).
  5. Use of MDCT to establish norms for size of major vessels of the mediastinum.
