Brief Biography
Dr. Jonathon Maguire is a Scientist in the Applied Health Research Centre of the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute of St. Michael’s Hospital as well as a staff pediatrician in the Department of Pediatrics at St. Michael’s Hospital and an associate staff physician in the Division of Pediatric Medicine at the Hospital for Sick Children. Dr. Maguire graduated from the University of Toronto Medical School in 2003 and completed a Pediatric Residency at the Hospital for Sick Children where he was Chief Resident in 2006-2007. He completed a Masters degree in clinical epidemiology at the University of Toronto in 2009 and an academic fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children where he held a Canadian Institutes of Health Research fellowship and a Society for Pediatric Research clinical research award.
Research Interests
Dr. Maguire’s research interests focus on clinical trials involving nutrition and development in young children as well as the creation of tools to facilitate evidence informed child health promotion in primary care and inpatient settings. He is a co-investigator in the development of a large Canadian practice based primary care research network called TARGet Kids!
