Brief Biography

Kathy Martin received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (1986) and her Master of Nursing (2003) in the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program from the University of Toronto. She arrived at SickKids in 1986 and is currently a Nurse Practitioner working with the Hear Transplant Program.

Kathy has broad knowledge and experience in solid organ transplantation and paediatric nursing and is a resource to health professionals within and outside of SickKids. She lectures nationally and internationally regarding organ transplantation, paediatric nursing and other topics.

Kathy has particular interest in the management of sustained uncertainty for parents and children living with chronic illness as well as the transition of adolescents from paediatric to adult health care.   

Research Interests

Adolescent transition from pediatric to adult care.
