Brief Biography

Kamaldine is a graduate from the University of Algiers. After a residency in paediatrics in Algiers, an MSc from Harvard School of Public Health, and training in paediatrics at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, he undertook his radiology education at the University of Pittsburgh and paediatric radiology at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. He has since practiced first at the Trousseau Hospital in Paris, then on the faculty at Montreal Children’s Hospital. He is presently a staff radiologist (Division of Body Imaging) and head of the section of GI/GU imaging at The Hospital for Sick Children. He is an associate professor at the University of Toronto.

His clinical and research areas of interest are in nutritional/metabolic disorders and diseases of the paediatric musculoskeletal system, such as osteoporosis and infections.

  1. Imaging in liver glycogen storage disease.
  2. Imaging in patients on ketogenic diets.
  3. Role of imaging in management of obesity.
  4. Congenital anomalies of gastrointestinal (GI) tract and genitourinary (GU) system.
  5. Osteomyelitis.

Research Interests

Use of modern imaging modalities (U/S, MRI) in the assessment of the bones/joints and the abdominal diseases. Imaging of nutritional/metabolic disorders and diseases of the musculoskeletal system (including osteoporosis and infections).
