Brief Biography

Andrea has practiced at the Hospital for Sick Children since her graduation from the Queen’s University Bachelor of Nursing Science Program in 1997.  She was a staff nurse in Burns and Plastic Surgery and then in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. In 2002 she graduated with a Masters of Nursing/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (Paediatrics) from the University of Toronto.  She worked as a nurse practitioner in Respiratory Medicine until 2012 specializing in complex respiratory care and sleep medicine with patients who were often technology dependent and medically fragile. In 2012, Andrea accepted a Senior Project Manager position in Doha, Qatar on the SickKids International Project Team.  In this position she led and supported Qatar-based and visiting nursing, physician and allied health subject matter experts until the project concluded in 2015. Currently, Andrea is the Nurse Practitioner in the Neonatal Follow-Up Clinic. She works alongside therapists and physicians to assess and provide developmental consultation to infants and children who are at risk for neurological sequelae due to complications during the neonatal period.
