Cathleen Steinegger, MD, MSc

Brief Biography

Dr. Steinegger is an Adolescent Medicine Specialist in the Division of Adolescent Medicine, Department of Paediatrics and an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. She received her medical degree in 1998 from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine.  She completed her paediatric residency training and three years of subspecialty fellowship training in Adolescent Medicine at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Steinegger also completed a Master’s Degree in Nutrition Science. She joined the staff at SickKids in 2005. She became the Head of the Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders Program in 2012. She works with patients and families in the inpatient, outpatient and day hospital eating disorders programs.  Additionally, she spends time educating medical trainees, other health practitioners and the public about the serious nature of eating disorders.  Her research focus is in the area of transition to adult care for young people with eating disorders.
