Brief Biography

Luc has worked in the department since 1996, occupying a supervisory role for the past 9 years. Luc is a registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, and a member of both the provincial and national ultrasound professional societies, O.S.D.MS and C.S.D.M.S. An active presenter and participant in conferences and seminars, Luc promotes innovative technology and assists his colleagues in the use of Ultrasound and its applications.

One technique Luc promotes is Transcranial Doppler Imaging (TCDI), a proven tool for identifying children with sickle cell disease at the highest risk for stroke. Once identified, these children can be treated to reduce this risk. Luc continually seeks opportunities to expand the use of TCDI and has educated Ultrasound Departments across Canada in the procedure. Ultrasound continues to evolve and new applications are continually emerging. An advocate of this progressive technology, Luc is excited to be part of DI and the changes that lie ahead.
