Brief Biography

Katharine Williams is a Paediatric Nurse Practitioner in the Division of Paediatric Medicine – Complex Care Program at The Hospital for Sick Children. She completed her undergraduate degree (BScN) at McMaster University in 2001.  In 2008, she successfully completed her graduate studies at the University of Toronto earning her a Master of Nursing and Paediatric Nurse Practitioner degree.    

Clinical Activities

Katharine has dedicated her career in paediatric nursing at The Hospital for Sick Children since 2003. From 2008-2016, she worked as a Nurse Practitioner in the Division of Urology.  In this role she played an integral role in the outpatient assessment and management of children living with complex urological conditions. She was instrumental in creating, implementing and successfully leading the first lower urinary tract symptoms nurse practitioner-led clinic in Canada.

In 2016, Katharine joined the Complex Care team at SickKids. In this role she provides high level outpatient care to patients with complex medical conditions. Her clinical focus is to improve patient care management and empower children and their families through co-ordination of care and facilitating communication between community and hospital-based care provider in order to provide comprehensive holistic care. She currently cares for children with medical complexities at SickKids and at the satellite Complex Care Clinic at The Royal Victorian Hospital in Barrie.
