Is your child a picky eater? Learn helpful tips at SickKids’ lecture on May 16

TORONTO - Is your child a picky eater? Learn how to be more successful at the dinner table by attending the Sick Kids Specialty Food Shop’s lecture, The Feeding Relationship: Feeding Behaviour of Children by Ellyn Satter, a nationally recognized children’s nutrition specialist, at The Hospital for Sick Children (Sick Kids) on Monday May 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. The evening lecture will provide valuable and practical information for parents who dread mealtimes with finicky eaters in the household.

Parents attending the lecture will learn not only how to put the fun back into meals but also what to do so that their children can eat well. Satter will also share tips on how to avoid common pitfalls in feeding children and teach parents how their children can take responsibility for their own eating.

Satter combines her expertise in nutrition with her training as a counselor and therapist specializing in the treatment of eating disorders. She is the author of several books, including Child of Mine: Feeding with Love and Good Sense and Secrets of Feeding a Health Family.

Cost of the workshop is $25 and participants must pre-register for the session by May 10, 2005. To register, call 1-800-737-7976 or register online at www.specialtyfoodshop.com, click on “Shop on-line”, then “Workshops”. Registrations will not be accepted at the door.
