Mary Jo Haddad recognized as one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women

Mary Jo Haddad, President and CEO of The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), is a recipient of the 2010 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Awards, in the Public Sector Leaders category. This is the third time Haddad is receiving this honour. She was also recognized in 2007 and 2008.

Haddad has worked at SickKids since 1984 and was appointed President & CEO in November 2004. She has held several leadership positions at SickKids including Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer, Chief Nurse Executive, Vice-President of Child Health Services, and Director of Neonatology and Critical Care. An active community supporter, she has served as a volunteer for The Darling Home for Kids and, for a two-year term, was a member of the Campaign Cabinet for United Way Toronto as the leader of the Health Care Division.

Honourees will be celebrated at the Top 100 Summit and Gala on November 29.  Haddad is sitting on a summit panel entitled Connecting to a Cause, addressing how valuable a passion for a cause can be for the community and the organization but also for a person’s general well-being.

The Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Awards is Canada’s most recognizable award for the country's highest-achieving female leaders in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. This is the 8th annual Awards and to date, 522 women across Canada have received this recognition.
