Leafs make time for SickKids

Some very special guests popped by SickKids this afternoon: Toronto Maple Leafs players and coaching staff. Making their annual visit to the Hospital, the team spent time with young patients and their families, playing games and signing autographs. The visit from the Maple Leafs is a highlight for many patients and families at SickKids.

It is the second visit to the Hospital in the past month for a few of the Maple Leafs. In December, players Mike Komisarek, Francois Beauchemin and Luke Schenn helped Santa’s elves deliver a load of toys, books and donations to patients at SickKids.

This time around, patients were treated to Leafs paraphernalia, including T-shirts, hats and toques. Several also got to play a round of one-on-one hockey with the pro players.

The visit was a Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) Team Up community outreach and development initiative.
