New Chief Financial Officer joining SickKids

Denise Arsenault will be joining SickKids as Chief Financial Officer and Vice-President, Finance, effective July 12, 2010. Arsenault will replace Angela Holtham, who is retiring after eight years at the Hospital.

“Denise has an extensive background in Ontario health care, which is complemented by her private sector life sciences and health care experience,” says Mary Jo Haddad, President and CEO. “She’ll be a tremendous asset to the executive team.”

Arsenault will assume leadership for finance at SickKids, including controllership, financial services, treasury and financial planning, as well as the corporate operations of materials management.

Arsenault, who holds a B.Comm. (Honours) from the University of Ottawa and is a Chartered Accountant, joins SickKids from the Ontario Agency for Health Protection and Promotion, where she is Vice-President and Chief Administrative Officer with responsibility for finance, human resources, information technology and facilities. Previously, Arsenault was Vice-President, Program Support, at Hamilton Health Sciences, Vice-President, Business Services and CFO at Chedoke-McMaster Hospital and Vice-President, Finance, and CFO at The Toronto Hospital. With MDS, she held several finance roles in health care venture capital, clinical research and corporate operations, including the role of Vice-President, Finance, and Global Controller.
