SickKids wins top employer designation for third consecutive year!

SickKids has been named one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2014! It’s the third year in a row that SickKids has been recognized as a top employer.

“I’m delighted that SickKids has once again been recognized as one of the nation’s best places to work,” says Mary Jo Haddad, SickKids President and CEO. “We have worked hard at the leadership level to enhance the working experience at SickKids. These initiatives have been hugely successful because staff have been so supportive and engaged as they roll out throughout the organization. There isn’t a team out there like the SickKids team, working together every day to create the best possible work environment, and the best environment for our patients and families.”

The 2014 winners of the Canada’s Top 100 Employers were announced this morning, marking the 14th consecutive year for one of the nation’s best-known workplace award competitions. SickKids was chosen from applicants from across Canada by Mediacorp Canada Inc. Applications were assessed against those of peer organizations for the following eight criteria: (1) Physical Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement.

“It’s been quite the year for SickKids so it is wonderful to be recognized as an employer-of-choice for 2014, a great place to work and have a rewarding career,” says Susan O’Dowd, Vice-President, Human Resources. “We are constantly improving to not only continue to make SickKids a great workplace for those who are here, but to also to attract the best and brightest to our organization.”

The Top 100 employers were announced today in a special editorial feature in The Globe and Mail.
