Trainees

Medical Students

A three-week selective in the clerkship year provides both an inpatient and outpatient experience in Adolescent Medicine and includes exposure to patients with eating disorders, substance abuse issues, chronic illness and teen parents and their children.

Two- to four-week electives are also offered to medical students and involve the same patient population.

Paediatric Residents

A four-week rotation in the PGY1 year provides an inpatient and outpatient experience as well as an opportunity to attend a clinic outside the hospital for street involved youth. Residents are responsible for the management of patients on the inpatient eating disorders unit and attend clinics for eating disorders, adolescents with chronic illness, teen parents and their children, as well as having exposure to patients with substance abuse issues.

Electives are available for paediatric residents and vary in length and focus.
