Our Mission and Vision
The Division of Adolescent Medicine at SickKids is the largest Division of Adolescent Medicine dedicated to improving adolescent health in Canada.
The vision and mission of the Division of Adolescent Medicine were created in 2003 by our interdisciplinary faculty and staff - they are based on a philosophy that values and respects adolescents and their families, and recognizes the important role our interdisciplinary healthcare team plays in advocating on their behalf. Our vision and mission statements were reaffirmed at our 2010 divisional retreat.
The Division of Adolescent Medicine at The Hospital for Sick Children is an interdisciplinary team of health professionals committed to promoting and providing excellence in adolescent health care. We collaborate with local, national and international communities in the areas of patient care, training, education and research.
Our vision is to be a world leader in the field of adolescent health by providing exemplary care, and contributing to the development of new knowledge through advocacy, training, education and research.
The Division of Adolescent Medicine provides flexible, responsive and complete health care for teens and their families who need help with eating disorders, substance abuse, teen parenting, complex healthcare needs, as well as transition to adult health care. We are a dedicated team who ‘get’ adolescents and understand their unique needs and interests. Together we are also leaders in providing innovative education, research and advocacy to help adolescents reach their full potential.
