Caring for Children After Heart Transplantation: A Symposium for Health Professionals - Saturday, November 15, 2008

Course Objectives

The goal of this program is to educate and inform our community partners who care for paediatric heart transplant patients. The course will provide information on many aspects of follow-up care after heart transplantation including growth and development, behavioural issues, psychosocial concerns, medical issues, immunosuppression, infectious diseases, and research endeavours. It is presented in an interactive format that encourages audience participation including case presentations and lunch time table discussion groups.

Who Should Attend?

The target audience is interdisciplinary and includes paediatricians, paediatric cardiologists, family doctors, pharmacists, and allied health caregivers including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and dietitians amongst others.
